There are no shorts like the MUSA shorts! I have two pairs and the elastic wore out so I threaded some webbing and a buckle through and use them like that. In addition, I like the Patagonia Terrebone <https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-terrebonne-shorts-10-inch/24690.html?dwvar_24690_color=COI&cgid=root> shorts. There are lighter, I am sure less durable, but feel like you have almost nothing on AND can walk around town in them and look fairly normal. Also a little longer than the baggies and a little more flexible/stretchy, if you are into that. And no liner.
