I just wanted to say that I tried this and I am very pleased with the results, after a year of use. I followed the instructions on the Riv site and it worked out perfectly. I have to say that it looks better after time than any cork or synthetic tape I have used. The bike is Frances Cycles custom "fixtonneur" that I had made, sizing is in the Riv/Grant philosophy (it rides big and I like it that way) - this is my city bike/commuter now. I love it.
