Patrick, I bought a short sleeve shirt from Club Ride 3 or 4 years ago and
liked it well enough that I purchased another. They have become my go-to
garments for hot weather riding. Synthetic "quick dry" fabric, full
collars, snap front, zippered breast pocket, no tell tale rear stuff
pockets and perfectly suitable for wearing when off the bike. If you're not
familiar with them, they're worth taking a look at.

I live in the south east where summers are hot and humid and I SWEAT. Do
they stink? Well, yes they do if I don't wash them after they've been
drenched. I can't comment on how they might perform in an arid environment.

We all have our unique biomes - but I find that immediately following a
sweaty ride it's not the garment so much that stinks, it's ME.
