Well, I think I fixed it. Brian mentioned the black indexed washer might be the problem. I think that may be the case - it may not have been indexed correctly. In addition I was suspicious of the brass cover for that plastic washer that I got from Riv to take the place of the stock silver item. The silver one has three little dimples that do something(?) and just fit a little better. So I took it apart & put it back together & WALA! Back to low effort shifting & the subtle ratcheting that seemed to be missing. The “rebound” is much diminished as well. Happy!
