I had the Campagne bag mounted to the front rack and thought it worked
great. I mounted it two different ways. The first was just slide the
leather thing over the steel thing and use a toe strap to hold it to
the rack. I was able to stuffed lots of things inside. I think it is
mounted that way in this picture: Inside is a spare tube, camera,
apples, nuts, glasses, maps, warm clothing etc. It bulges out very
nicely.

Since the bag got a little droopy when not full I made a wooden
platform, drilled a hole in the bag, bolted it on, and zip tied the
whole contraption to the rack:

That stiffened the bottom up. I missed the bulge factor but it made
it easier to just throw stuff into. There was also a great spot to
carry my little pump:

Eventually I needed the rack back to haul around a tent so I used the
Sackville bag rivendell sells but right now I have the Acorn
"classic" (as I call it) on the bike and have rack space.

What I didn't like about mounting the bag to the rack was rider side
pockets were unusable due to the shifter cables and there wasn't a lot
of room to fiddle with the elastic cord to close it. Overall there
isn't much I don't like about the bag except: The buckles are in two
parts which is a little weird. (I think the GB bags have them also)
and the elastic cord holding it shut. The magnet on the Riv bag is so
much better, I may try to rig up a magnet to hold the Campagne bag
shut when it goes back on the Hillborne.

Regards,
 Ray
