I should have escaped 4th of July weekend on Thursday, but I wasn't that smart, so the town noise overloaded my brain and capacity to escape till Sunday morning. But I achieved escape velocity and made the 10 mile climb to Rampart Reservoir. Several fantastic thunderstorms, one including hail and zero count lightening, countless pipes and quiet solitude, and a jaw dropping double rainbow that followed the contours of the ridge on the other side of the inlet.
