There is a middle ground. There are some nicely fitting wool shorts and jerseys that are made. A little looser fit and no flashy ads or colors. I prefer this kind of gear for more strenuous rides. Ibex, Ground Effect and others make some good quality stuff, made in the US or from the wool source.
