Erich:
I have installed the "R_Scilab_DCOM3.0-1B5.exe" and I am able to select the 
background server but when I click on "check server" it says that it can't make 
a connection to R. If I switch back to foreground server then everything works 
fine. I wonder what am I doing wrong.
