Since I have the space AND if I were still under the delusion  there
was money to be made in this hobby, I might have built  one.

resin alone would not be strong enough for something of that size. it  would 
have to have a few layers of fiberglass to make it sturdy enough - even if  
you were to use the resin i'm using for my track links
