Analog servos can be 'hacked' to remove the stops. You basically need to remove the pot from the servo, and you get a gear motor that does free rotation in either direction, and its still has its 'speed control' so you can go slow or fast. I did it to one servo to get it to twist a piece of threaded rod. Its easy, compared to building the rest of the tank's systems ;). For instructions you can do a google search.
