Hetzer T010 used the following drive system during recent battles on May 18.
two Makita drill motors two 12V 18Ah batteries wired in series (24V) two Talons - Coast (not Brake) setting, no cooling fans IMX-1 mixer Bad news - The Hetzer fried two original Talons (not SR) during the second sortie of the first battle (Defend the Town). The IMX-1 was not damaged. Air temperature was not hot and the failure occurred early in the second sortie with about 20 minute break between sorties. Consequently, I do not believe that it was a thermal failure. The failure did occur while performing rapid reversal steering maneuvers in very tall grass. The failure was probably due to impedance reversal spikes. Good news - It only required about 20 minutes to replace the dead Talons with two new Talon SRs. The new Talons SRs did not fry during the second battle (Fox and Hounds). Joe -- -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group.
