Actually, there are two functions needed here, so probably the $3 AND $8 would be needed. If you link the fields together using the $8 you don't know which "piece" of the kit those linked fields relate to, you just know that those fields go together in some way. If you want to say that THIS set relates to the hopi dolls and THIS set relates to the CD and THIS set relates to the workbook, then you need the $3.

However, I have never seen these used in a system, so the question may be moot.
