I liked the rounded look on the Mac, but on Win it looked to me like there is an edge that shouldn't be there.

Secondly, I guess you'd need a normal button state, pressed, and dimmed.
Unless there is an easy way to make those from the normal graphic?

What I usually do is to offset the canvas 2 pixels down and 2 pixels to the right on button down and then reverse that move on button up. Gives a nice movement feedback to the user. You could also create a separate pict to display if you need the button to remain "down".

Actually, I have been fairly successful at X-Plat software. My QuizMaker Pro now sells more Win than Mac copies though I develop exclusively on the Mac.
There are some differences to watch out for, though.
