Warning Rumbling Ahead:

Thats quite disappointing to hear as flickering affects the quality persieved of any product.

If this is a global issue, there should not be anything more important to RS then to get this under control.

Can anyone give some solutions?

Do any of RS people actually read this lists?

Giovanni,

Yes, we have battled the flickering controls problem on Windows XP for quite
awhile now (just like most other RB developers on this list).

We actually found that by making sure the property EraseBackground = False
on all related controls such as Canvases, that the Windows flickering seems
to be significantly reduced. We've also optimized the drawing/paint
routines on all canvas-based controls to help reduce flicker.

Whatever flickering you see in Stimulus 4.1 is actually a HUGE improvement
over the control flickering that occurred in the previous 4.0 version.

We found that BevelButtons on Windows XP tend to flicker more than most
controls we tested. Many RB developers avoid using RB's BevelButtons on
Windows apps and resort to using custom canvas buttons. We may decide to go
that route in the future as well.

Of course, the faster your Windows XP machine is, the less flickering that
your eye will catch. Running RB apps on a really old, slow PC or in a
Mac-based virtual environment like Parallels or VirtualPC will really
increase the amount of flickering you see.

Unfortunately, control flickering on Windows XP is a problem that many
people have complained about on this mailing list, but with very few
solutions provided. If anyone knows how to further reduce the amount of
control flickering on Windows XP, I would also be very interested in
learning the answer.

Flickering on some of the controls is driving me crazy?!!!

Even Stimulus flickers when the pictures change.

Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Is there a fix to this?
