Out of all of the 2007 Feature/FIX requests this should be the top
issues right next to true multi-threading support of multiple core CPUs.
From my standpoint, this is called visual corruption. It should be
placed on the top of the lists of things for RS to accomplish for many
reasons.
1- When the user sees that your app flickers, they start to wonder what
else on your app is low end and unoptimised.
2- It will always be infront of the user. You can fix all your bugs, but
this one its not your fault.
3- It does not matter how well you designed the UI, it will always be
corrupted infront of the user.
As a consultant, I would possibly vote against any application that
flickers on the screen as you start to wonder how optimized is the inner
code.
By the way, we do software development on the Windows Enviroment for
over 10 years and if we delivered an app that flickers, it would be seem
as if "ITS MY FAULT". I cant tell the user "Its the fault of my
developing app".
My evaluation is simple, this issue is cheaper and simpler to have RS
fix then for us then to have anyone to develop controls that work.

If this is a global issue, there should not be anything more important
to RS then to get this under control.
I strongly agree with this. I spend MOST of my Windows programming
working on stupid cosmetic workarounds because of flicker or redraw
problems. All of us would be immensely more productive if we didn't
have to deal with this.
RS prides themselves on "Cross Platform That Really Works", and I have
to say that just because you make something work well on a Mac,
certainly does not mean that it will work well on Windows without
modification. This kind of goes against their mission statement,
doesn't it?!
It sure would be nice to have windows that have in-built
double-buffering for Windows, at least as an option, if nothing else.
So... those three wish list items for 2007 that everyone is writing
about... this one should be near the top. Ooops... that means that
I'll have to take one off of my list to make room! Darn!
