Hi,

What is the draw to REALbasic? Is it cross-platform? Is it rich framework? Is it easy to learn?

My main reason is cross platform development. Although I would love to develop for OS X only, the reality is that the people I would like to use my applications are mainly Windows users. I still think Realbasic is the best option for me for developing cross platform GUI apps.

However, my main gripe with Realbasic is that it is a proprietary language. Although Realsoftware seems stable now, I have seen too many businesses go out of business or give up on their product. HyperCard, SuperCard and Metroworks come to mind here. Thats why I will abandon Realbasic a soon I'll find an acceptable alternative based on a non proprietary language.

cheers,

Jurriaan
