That too narrowly defines your definition of RB and may be what would be necessary for you to dragged away from RB, but not for someone else not to consider RB to begin with. Even companies that get into cross-platform usually are coming from something else, and that something else has a huge impact on the tools they select, and if they even bother to pursue a cross-platform strategy. Noone knows (and Im sure REAL has no idea) how much real cross-platform development is going on with REALbasic. They have a free Linux version. A really usable Windows version is a fairly recent development but it's a good product. A good Mac version has been around for a long time - yet many people I knew who were ardent RB users from the beginning are now using xCode (they liked RB because it was a great visual Mac tool, not really for its cross-platform capabilities). There are a handful of known competitors already that are doing about as well as REALbasic (ie "making payroll"). If you want to get a glimpse of them, merely visit the Paradigma website - we support all of them, including REALbasic. In fact we are about to announce the first of some solutions bundled with Valentina because as third party developers with a will to thrive, Paradigma is ready to give back as much love as IDE partners are willing to give. Its adapting to the ones that are coming in through the back door that REAL will need to watch for.
