Umm, I don't think I can really agree with the comparison here. There
are some very professional utilities that have been written over the
years - just ask Peter Norton.

As far as RB not being good for professional apps - foobar! Its all
in the implementation. I have used RB extensively for enterprise
solutions. It has proven to build robust and reliable applications -
it's the development cycle that is letting me down. Once the quirks
and bugs have been worked around though, the applications work
brilliantly and reliably. I have completed projects that have earned
over $50k for single applications, and they are hardly *non-
professional* at that end of the price scale.

My concerns stem from the frustration at getting RB to things it is
supposed to do. As a programmer I want to be spending my time solving
my clients issues, and writing software that helps them do what they
have to do. I do not want to spend my time trying to work out a way
to solve RBs issues, particularly rudimentary stuff.

I'll wait for R3. I have too much time and effort invested in RB to
even entertain the thought of changing back to environments or
consider looking for something new.

Kind regards

Happy Easter
