ActionScript is based on ECMAScript, just as JavaScript is, so the  
two are quite similar. My ActionScript knowledge is quite modest (I  
can read and understand the code, but don't write it), but it should  
be quite easy to learn.

Anything's possible, the big question is the timeframe you want to  
realize it in.

RB plays the flash movies QuickTime can play, meaning Flash 8 movies  
are probably a no-go. There are people on this list who will be able  
to tell you the exact version, but to my knowledge QuickTime doesn't  
play anything above a Flash 6 movie. If it's a wise decision to take  
on Flash, that's another question. There must be some shareware out  
there that will give you some basic animation features without the  
rather steep learning curve of Flash, especially if you're not a  
designer/animator.

Some people will certainly feel different, so I'm going to state for  
the record that this is my personal opinion :-)
