Yes, I know you can, we do it all the time in one of our Rails apps,  
but my impression was that the original poster wanted to integrate  
the flash movie into a QuickTime object in RB and talk to it over  
QuickTime. I don't know if the flash sockets still work when you play  
the movie using QuickTime.
