This is a Mac OS X behaviour, in my opinion. Everywhere I tested,  
this is the behaviour (for example, go to iTunes and edit the  
information (in the lyrics panel). You can press return to insert a  
new line and enter to "press" on OK.

It's an habit to learn.

For the number pad, you can use the fn key. The enter key exists even  
without a number pad (Enter is not a number ;-)).
