I believe that this is were escrow may benefit developers of plugins or having the source.
Sven, I know where your coming from, but this is no different then you going out of business and leaving your clients on the air. The bottom line is that nothing is guaranteed in life and even RS could change and has the right to change its support per particular technologies that could break your application. Hence the reason why no matter what development platform, .NET, Flash, PHP, Delphi, you better make sure you have the source or atleast counted the risk and the life of your product. Having worked with major providers in the US, I can only tell you that risks are always there, but only when you own the source can you really be guaranteed and even then you must take all risks in to account. Thats part of having good business practices.
