Have you not used Excel? The ability for adjacent cells to act as a single cell in terms of having a continuous content area horizontally or vertically. That can not be done with the current listbox . In excel i use that for many things but horizontally most often for headers that span columns, vertially for summary data > I'm not sure how this is a major gap, though -- how many people > need to > write a spreadsheet in RB? Joe you miss the point... It's not the calculations but the flexability and ease with with large amounts of data can be displayed and viewed. Where i work people use excel for databases for storage, review and reporting of data because of that. You can whip up nice professional looking printable reports very quickly in excel with that type of grid functionality and my end users expect that functionality for large data sets. For RB as a RAD tool it would be a HUGE boost if done right > And if you're not writing a spreadsheet, > what do you need such a control for? For the RAD display/reporting/printing capabilities for data or database centric custom apps. These things are not usually sold as shrink wrapped software but used for custom internal company applications ... the thing which made VB so popular in businesses. - Karen _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
