Not much, no. I avoid Microsoft apps as much as possible on ethical
grounds. I do use Open Office, though.

OK, I can see how that would be handy sometimes. This *can* be done
with the current listbox, sort of, but it's a lot of work and (as you
said earlier) is a kludge.

I've seen lots of people using spreadsheets for databases, but I've
always observed it to be mainly because that's the tool they already
know. One of the first things we usually try to train people who want
to get serious about managing data is: a spreadsheet is not a database.

But that's probably an argument for another time... more specifically,
how would you use this in one of your RB apps?

They expect what, exactly? Sorry if I'm being dense, but I'm still not
getting it. Please imagine your app with such functionality, and
describe to me in a paragraph or two how I would use it.

Indeed -- it's the "done right" part that would need to be nailed down.
I'm still of the suspicion that, if we ask half a dozen RB developers
who all claim to want a grid control, they'll have half a dozen
different definitions of what "done right" means. Let's try to come up
with a spec and see if we can get general agreement on it; then we can
figure out how to make it happen.

Best,
