When I first started using RB I also stayed away from plugins because
they increased the dependency tree for my app.

But I realized that plugins allow me to add important capabilities in
a timely and cost effective manner.

And most interestingly, the plugin vendors fix their bugs MUCH faster
than RS does. If there's a bug in the MBS suite, Christian usually
fixes it instantly and provides a patched version very quickly. How
long does it take to get a bug fix through the RS process?

I've been burned by RS breaking important EXISTING features so often
that I PREFER to use plugin functions over those built into RB.

MBS has never let me down. RS has caused me embarassment in front of
my customers by breaking existing features in every single release
since 2006r1.

So I've come to realize that plugins are one of the BEST things about RB.

If I needed a grid control I'd far prefer to use one from an
established third party than a new one from RS that was released on
the Rapid Release schedule.
