It would be interesting to see a screenshot of this window to see if it 
is confusing, but overall it doesn't sound like an inconsistent 
interface.  A sheet window is a separate window and shouldn't be 
controlled by the parent windows widgets.  The sheet window is simply a 
separate window "attached" to a parent window.

I've seen applications with sheet windows, and I've never been confused 
how to close it.  I think that perhaps either A) The window layout is 
really confusing, or B) The user just doesn't know how to navigate 
standard UI.
