Subject: Audio Levels on G2 Producer

I wanted to get some advice from the Forum about audio level difficulty on
the G2 Producer.

Problem: Audio levels consistently too hot in RealProducer

Set-up: G2 Producer Plus for NT

Audio Capture Card: ADI SoundMixer

Output: Surestream files at 20kbps, 45kbps, and 100kbps

Production Routine: We take audio feeds and run them through an APHEX 10/4
Interface and pass the feed into the audio capture card. When the audio
level is too hot, we try to adjust this level down in the Recording
Properties on the card. But our problem is what to do when the level is
still too hot, even after brining the level down (as far as it can go).

We do so much streaming (length of files and number of files) here that we
don't do have the resources to do the amount of pre-encoding
capture/compression/mixing work that most of you probably do.

So, can anyone recommend a way to get our audio levels down without having
to do any pre-encoding capture/compression/mixing.

Thanks,
