Subject: RealPlayerG2 freezing after video starts

I have a client who has a Pentium 2/400mhz machine, 128MBs RAM and a
Creative Labs Riva TNT2 Ultra video card (32MBs). RealPlayerG2 is installed
(version 6.0.6.99).

Whenever he plays a streaming video file, his machine freezes about 5-10
seconds into the video. Cntrl-Alt-Del does nothing - only a hard reboot is
possible.

So far, we've found that, if he removes the check in the "Use Optimized
Video Display" option (under Options | Preferences... | Performance), then
restarts RealPlayer and plays the same video, the machine will not freeze
while the video is streaming.

My question is - what could be causing this conflict? By removing the check
in the "Use Optimized Video Display" setting, the quality of the streaming
video is lost and becomes very muddy.

I certainly do not want to lose video quality just to make the system not
freeze -- there has to be a reason and another fix that can be done so the
Optimzed Video Display can be used to achieve the best video quality...

Any help is much appreciated!
