RealPlayerG2 is installed (version 6.0.6.99). Whenever he plays a streaming video file, his machine freezes about 5-10 seconds into the video. Cntrl-Alt-Del does nothing - only a hard reboot is possible. So far, we've found that, if he removes the check in the "Use Optimized Video Display" option (under Options | Preferences... | Performance), then restarts RealPlayer and plays the same video, the machine will not freeze while the video is streaming. My question is - what could be causing this conflict? By removing the check in the "Use Optimized Video Display" setting, the quality of the streaming video is lost and becomes very muddy. I certainly do not want to lose video quality just to make the system not freeze -- there has to be a reason and another fix that can be done so the Optimzed Video Display can be used to achieve the best video quality...
