I digitize a lot of videotapes and had the same problem with not being able to
stop real producer after a certain amount of time.
I ended up just writing a visual basic front end that would generate the
command
line and shell out to rmbatch. If you've got rmbatch (it comes with real
producer when you buy it), you're welcome to try the program I wrote. You can
view the information about it here:
http://www.pharmacy.purdue.edu/~hooktv/rmgui.html
I don't actually have it online to download yet, if you decide to try it,
let me
know by email and I'll put it online.
If you're streaming your audio using one of the newer versions of real server,
you should be able to generate your ram files automatically by using the ramgen
command in your link, for example:
<a href ="servername:port/ramgen/mountpoint/file.rm">link name</a>
