I think that spotlight is already in testing phase with out entity component system. You can add a light component to any entity (any object in scene) with out entity component editor (a hidden feature in 0.2.2 still but you can access it with writing eceditor to console inworld). When the component is made to sync over network it stores the data as xml to modrex freedata for that object. This is then sent to all viewers, Naali gets this info and creates the light to other clients too. I think this was the first test case for our network synchronisation for ECs. If i got something wrong the guys that worked on this please correct me :)
For ether, its still at early stage. It doesent have everything we would like it to have. Mostly the UI interaction is a bit weird sometimes, like this cancel thing. And we'd like to add teleport and openid/webauth avatars to it. I hope we'll have time to complete it. I can try to squeeze in that cancel connect button this week. Thanks for the feedback.
