Hello Patrick, welcome :)... I have had many issues setting up linux and possible seen a few of the above errors, maybe myself or otehrs can help you a little more if you can elaborate a bit more.
Can you tell us, Have you used the ConfigWizard or configured manually ? You say you have tried to join on your private network with this error, can you join localhost ok ? In general it seems like you haven't got everything configured, i.e from the errors above the user login & home region info looks like its giving an instant error.
