Have you verified the package with rpm yet? If it verifies fine, try increasing verbosity to -Uvvh or strace the installation attempt.

rpm -V for this package gives me a package not installed stuff. Don't know how to verify telling rpm to not look for the meta data in the rpm DB for the file (as OOo 1.0.2 is not installed). What is the right command to perform?

Segmentation fault
I don't see anything extremely unusual but heck, I'm just a newbie. What can it be?
