The naming scheme did not have anything to do with trying to expire your certifications early. This a quote from Pete Childers VP of Global Learning Services (used with permission):
"RHCEs should not worry that the new number scheme will mean their certifications age out earlier. It won't. Modified policies will be forthcoming on the RHCE FAQs.
Questions/inquiries should be directed to [EMAIL PROTECTED]"
Hope this helps a little.
This is reassuring, and was my only qualm on the modified numbering.
