What software would I need to run for firewall/email etc and are the packages included with Redhat. ?

Firewall: iptables, ipchains.

SMTP: sendmail, postfix
POP3/IMAP: imapd

Web: Apache, Tux

SQL Database: PostgreSQL, MySQL

LDAP: OpenLDAP

File/Print share: Samba, NFS, LPR/LPD

Also included are servers for SSH, telnet, FTP, RSH, rlogin, dialup PPP, TFTP, DHCP, NTP, XDMCP, DNS, webmail, and probably some others that I can't remember at the moment.

How would a Redhat server with windows clients be implemented in the way of software and hardware connections?

Hardware: standard ethernet.

Software: It depends on the exact client and server protocol that you need. Windows file/print sharing is done using Samba on Linux. The Windows client sees what appears to be an NT server.

Is it possible to connect a windows 2000 server to a Redhat server which would be used for the companys firewall and email system and how would this be implemented.

Connect?

Also what would be the minimum system requirements for the server and the clients.

You have not provided enough information to get a good answer for that question.

Would it be possible to run Linux cad software on the linux server as all clients would neeed to use the software.

That question would be better answered by the vendor of the CAD software.
