I got a little more curious about using reiserfs on RH9 So, I dump slackware and install RH9 using reiserfs. Things seem to run alot smoother but I'd have to credit that to only installing gnome and not all the extra stuff. But as a note I am not planning on running a file server service.
I would suggest for running services to use ext3.
