DEC marketing sucked. It's too bad, since the Alpha really is/was a
nice architecture. I've been using them since they first came out.
IMO, DEC fell because its management didn't have the courage to challenge shareholder expectations. (I assume they were sharp enough to see that the landscape was changing.)
