Your questions lead me to believe you may not be familiar with "nc." It is the utility "netcat" which will establish a network socket connection between two machines. It's quite a handy tool to have at your disposal. http://www.atstake.com/research/tools/network_utilities/nc110.txt http://www.atstake.com/research/tools/index.html#network_utilities The use of netcat, of course, was assuming duplicating a drive "via the network" scenario. You can also pop the "destination drive" into the same computer as the "source drive" and all the "netcat (nc)" stuff isn't necessary.
