Hi,

I'm new to the list, and the world of Unix/Linux in general. I picked up
Macmillan's package for Linux 5 at the local Best Buy, and attempted an
install for the first time. I created the boot.img and supp.img disks as
instucted and and got an error message: "Boot failure: change disks and
press any key". I've been through the list archive, and the knowledge base
on the WWW page, and have found this problem mentioned, but no answers
(except, copy the RH CDROM .img files to the HD and rawrite.exe them from
there...tried it...doesn't work.)

I'm running WinNT4 Workstation on the same drive with the NTFS filesystem
(could this be my problem?), on a P133 Intel system, with NEC CDR-273 and a
Fujistu 2.5 meg IDE harddrive. The partition I made for Linux was created
with the WinNT partitioning program in the setup. That partition is not
formated as far as I know.

One interesting aside (or maybe it's somewhere at the root of the problem):
WinNT/Control Panel/SCSI identifies my HD, CDR and my IDE Connor tape drive
as SCSI. They are most definitely IDE.

Any ideas?

TIA
