So were some of the 1.6Gig models.. particularly the early 3 platter
models (i.e. series 31600).. they had a terrible habit of just stopping,
and never working again... this happened to me, and it turned out be a
manufacturing fault in the eary versions of these drives... generally the
2 platter series 21600) are better, and work properly..
