You probably did not use a cross (or straight, whatever the case may be)
cable from the hub to the DSL.
Data NEVER know where to go, all machines "see" the data; the destination
machine "picks" it up. The rest just ignore it.
Some pedantic readers may ask what about if there is a switch, or router,
or whatever. The above argument is for a simple lan connected via
hub(s).... ;-)
