        But maybe moving from QMail to Postfix would be extremely reasonable
and the same question exists.

        Maybe because Postfix is more stable, better maintained, and more
maintainable than QMail?  That's just based on my personal experience
of maintaining several significant sized networks on which I have had
Sendmail, SMail, MMDF, QMail, and Postfix running.
