I think this is going to be harder than it looks. It depends on how you have
it set up. I believe that if you used the Promise specialized boot disk to
install 6.0 then you're going to have to make a new initrd image. If you
just used the script i think you can remove it by unmounting drives and
removing their /etc/fstab entries and then using a series of rmmod or
modprobe or depmod -something commands to remove the module and make it not
come back up at boot. An lsmod should show you what modules are loaded and
the ultra66.o is the one that drives the promise card. If you used the boot
disk you'll have to do a mkinitrd to create a new ram disk but i can't
advise on how to do this because i've only done it on scsi machines after a
kernel recompile.
