Chalk me down for mutt as well, speedy and flexible - I love it.

On the GUI side, I've seen sylpheed, which is nice but not directly
compatible with mutt (mbox vs. mdir), balsa (looks very promising),
xfmail (make sure to use the latest version 1.4.6, IIRC - can't wait to
see archimedes), spruce (had a few problems with that one, but haven't
tried more recent versions), postillion (nice as well, but tended to be
slow), kmail (1.0.x had quite a few problems, I've only tried the new
one for KDE 2.0 once and had to dump it as it crashes under Solaris 2.6 -
seems to run under Linux, though), ishmail (don't like the looks...),
...I think that's about it. All very subjective, of course...
