Woops, I failed to read farther down the list where you do
in fact have a SCSI system and you did rpm -uvh. You now
trying to compile the kernel I see. So I guess my question
is have you tried the mkinitrd since you have booted of
floppy with the rpm version of the kernel 2.2.17 -14 in
/boot? I had not problem after a rebooting back to the
2.2.16 kernel.
