Hi Jeff,

I think he means that linux distributions are required by the GNU license to
make the software available to what amounts to being free. I've never done
it but there are several mirrors you can go to to download the images and go
through some kind of procedure to install it. Having the CD's is sure handy,
but I've heard there were ways of getting it for free.

Does anybody know the details of how to do this?

Not to beat redhat out of $ but you can download Red Hat Linux free too.
