Actually, this is a Good Idea (tm). Up2date could be set up by default with 
two channels: one for critical updates and security-related stuff, the 
other for everything else. I see no downside whatsoever... of course 
existing users would have to update their configuration or sign up for the 
new channel or whatever. But after the initial migration, wow...
