A couple of things are likely. I imagine you either set the firewall option 
during installation (master) or you took the default which is Medium. 
Therefore you maybe blocking most of the traffic you desire. Even if not, you 
didn't specify what type of connection you're trying to make. Try ssh first. 
RH turns it on by default. If you can ssh to the master from a slave then you 
likely just have too strick of a fw setting.  If you want telnet, ftp, etc. 
then you should goto /etc/xinetd.d/ and vi each appropriate file and turn 
them on by setting the disable=yes to disable=no. Then restart xinetd and you 
should be cool.
