"iptables -L" does DNS lookups while "iptables -L -n" does not and prints numeric IP address everywhere. If you have trouble with DNS, - -L -n is *much* faster than -L. I'd first have a look at your routing (netstat -nr) and your DNS setup (/etc/resolv.conf). Unfortunately, you've come up with only a vague description of the symptoms: > [...] problems with just about everything: ssh, > webmin, xterm, etc, everything is sluggish. "everything is sluggish" is far from an ideal problem description. - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+Bzpv0iMVcrivHFQRAtjGAJ9607vuBiLoIWRuP5JPB2uTulX3bgCgiQnL su1XFOhfGCcRgFpH/OWf4Yc= =mVQE -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
