OK, let me try this then. I just bought a USR 56K internal Voice
Faxmodem. The model number is 5685, and this is NOT the winmodem
version. I'm trying to get it configured using netcfg in the same
manner as my previous modem, but when I try to activate the connection I
get nothing... not even a dial tone. I have used the jumpers to disable
PnP, and it's now on COM1/IRQ3 in Window$. The symlink in Linux is from
/dev/modem to /dev/cua0 as I think it should be. Any ideas about why
I'm not getting anything? Thanks in advance.
