Hi, Larry. You have a great plan going to save yourself from introducing
disease to your main display. I would recommend starting a deep sand bed,
using your hang on back filter only for Xtra circulation and maybe some
carbon now and then, and placing internal power heads for added circulation.
You could add more live rock. Lighting should be intense enough to support
whatever you plan on adding to your display tank. All SPS corals should be
soaked in an iodine solution before introducing to your acclimation and
observation tank. HTH
